Each set of pieces, crocheted in 100%linen (4castles, 4 knights, etc..,) is individually designed, with coloured glass beads identifying the various sets.

The board is woven as double cloth with the same linen and white /black squares of glass were inserted as the weaving progressed. (The intention was to display it lit from below).

The glass has given the board a really good, firm surface on which to play.

The pieces have been treated, first with a hardener then with a clear protective coating. It is eminently playable with.

It has its own purpose made Perspex display box. It is completely unique.

It is for sale at: £1.500 +p&p.

A friend of Pat & John Camburn is moving house down to Gloucestershire in about a months time and has a loom she needs to dispose of.

The loom is American, made by Harrisville Designs. It has a weaving width of 24ins., its width being about 28ins. It is great in so much that it folds up to about 12ins. It has 6 treadles and 4 shafts, so you can weave a pattern and still keep 2 treadles for tabby. There is also a little handmade oak bench that is the same width as the loom., and a bag of shuttles and other misc. bits and pieces, so if you have no equipment, it would see you up and running.

She is looking for a donation to Help for Heros of around £100.00.
I have been to see it and also seen it folded up. I am not sure how old it is but think she has been in her house some 20 years and I think brought it back with her from America.

She lives just south of Darlington.

I have some more images of it folded and also the stool, if you are interested or can give you her telephone no should you want to go and have a look.
