Last year Lucinda Bird of Benridge Woolworks gave us samples of fleece from lots of different breeds of sheep for us to spin up for her. This was a wonderful opportunity to have a go at spinning samples of breeds we wouldn't normally think of trying to spin, with some very interesting results - some positive and some decidedly less so! Now we thought we would repeat the experiment with felting, instead of spinning. Above you can see some of the breeds which felted well. These turned out to be mostly, but not exclusively, those with a shorter staple.
